Welcome Dr. Emily Walrath!

BNBC is proud to welcome Dr. Emily Walrath, Counseling/School Psychologist, to our team! She is currently a Post-Doctoral Fellow (pre-licensed psychologist)

D. Emily’s expertise includes assessment of the following concerns for diagnostic clarification and recommendations for the school and for treatment: 

  • Ages 6+

  • school or learning problems (IEP/504 plan recommendations)

  • inattention/ hyperactivity (e.g. ADHD)

  • Autism Spectrum Disorders

  • disruptive behaviors (i.e. ODD)

  • anxiety 

  • depression

Dr. Emily joined our team after obtaining her doctorate in Counseling and School Psychology from Florida State University (FSU). During her time at FSU, she completed extensive coursework and gained supervised clinical experience in college counseling (individual and group, ADHD coaching), school counseling (K-12th grade), inpatient forensic work, and pediatric assessment. As part of her American Psychological Association (APA) accredited pre-doctoral internship, she trained at FSU’s Multidisciplinary Evaluation and Consulting Center with a primary focus on evaluating Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) in children and adolescents. She has also served as the school psychologist for a high school and elementary school in the Tallahassee area and understands parents’ rights and school’s responsibilities regarding 504 Plans and IEPs. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband and their cats.
